Shared Sorrow: A Faith Community’s Response to Grief & Mourning (to be rescheduled)

People do not resolve, recover from, or “get over” grief, but they can, over time, become reconciled to their losses as they find hope, healing, and renewed meaning. This workshop is an opportunity for clergy, church staff and laity to explore the mourner’s six reconciliation needs and to consider ways for their faith communities to respond.

Ron and Carol received training in Death & Grief studies from Dr. Alan Wolfelt the founder of The Center for Loss and Life Transition. They both served as companions at Olivia’s House, a grief & loss center for children. Carol uses her roles as educator and writer to heighten awareness of the dimensions of grief and mourning. Ron holds an MA in Theology and serves as Assistant Director of The Center for Spiritual Formation.
