Ministry of Spiritual Direction

Supervision

“Supervision is a welcoming space where spiritual directors/companions may be supported and encouraged in their practices. Grounded in Lucy Abbott Tucker’s supervision methods of affirmation, self-reflection, consultation, challenge and education, directors/supervisees come away from sessions with renewed energy and insights into the ministry of spiritual direction.”

One-on-One Peer Supervision

The following persons trained in Spiritual Direction supervision are available for persons interested in working directly with a supervisor.

HALF-DAY RETREATS

The Center for Spiritual Formation also offers two half-day retreats that provide an opportunity to enrich an understanding of the spiritual director’s relationship to others. These extended experiences focus dedicated teaching and reflection upon the director’s own self-encounter in the journey with directees. Each retreat highlights a commitment to staying true to fundamental practices and continued alignment with best practices as a community of accountability through peer supervision. These retreats are held on Zoom on Saturdays from 10 am to 12 PM (EST), and are free for participants of the MSD program.
